Breast cancer affects women throughout the world in great numbers, but most women are unaware of the many benefits of breast massage. Breast cancer has touched all our lives and it is our mission to ensure that women everywhere understand how important breast massage can be for overall breast health and for post-surgical recovery.
Sally is a Board Certified Massage and Bodywork Therapist, Medical Massage Practitioner, Oncology Massage Practitioner, and Certified Lymphedema Therapist.
In 2007 Sally opened Thérapie with the goal of using her experience with massage to help others become pain-free. After being diagnosed with breast cancer, she became even more focused and developed what is now known as The Spurgeon Method®. For over a decade, Sally has been helping women overcome the pain associated with breast surgery through therapeutic massage and bodywork. Today, she's more committed than ever to teaching her method to the next generation of massage therapists.
Thérapie is a Nationally Approved Provider for Continuing Education.
The Spurgeon Method® is approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork in the US and Accredited by ThinkTree in the UK.
Michelle has been with Thérapie since she left massage school over a decade ago. She is skilled at many different massage modalities, including oncology massage, medical massage and energy work . Michelle V, or Miss V as she is affectionately known, has been a medical massage therapist, lymphedema therapist, and massage therapy instructor for over 20 years.
Miss V joined the team at Thérapie after her own experience with breast cancer and is passionate about offering and teaching The Spurgeon Method®. When not working with clients, Miss V makes time in her busy schedule to also teach Manual Lymphatic Drainage and Kinesio Taping classes.
After receiving her first professional massage, Odeth realized that this was her calling. She found that, combined with her other interests of reiki, yoga and energy healing, massage was the perfect way for her to fulfill her desire to help people by connecting mind, body and spirit. Also trained in Medical Massage, The Spurgeon Method®, and Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Odeth combines her knowledge and provides much-needed balance and healing in all her sessions.
Nalea was drawn to Thérapie after family members had faced a breast cancer diagnosis. Seeking a way to help them, she learned The Spurgeon Method® and Manual Lymphatic Drainage and enjoys offering these to clients in addition to Swedish or relaxation massage, energy work and aromatherapy. She is currently studying to become a Master Aromatherapist and loves to pamper her clients.
Ashleigh joined the team at Thérapie in February 2021 after taking The Spurgeon Method® class and realizing how much she could help not only breast surgery clients, but also all her clients who had shoulder or upper torso issues. Utilizing her massage training combined with Manual Lymphatic Drainage techniques, Ashleigh provides treatments that benefit every client and enjoys seeing her repeat clientele.
Teruance came to Thérapie after studying Breast and Lymphatic Massage at the Spurlin Institute in North Carolina. He is passionate about helping women recover from breast and liposuction surgeries. His fluid, nurturing, attentive touch relieves pain and tension and promotes relaxation in every session. Teruance possesses a wealth of knowledge in many massage and bodywork modalities and combines them to create sessions especially tailored for each client.
Compassionate by nature, it was no surprise that Grecia would be drawn towards learning many healing modalities that she would be able to use in aiding others to a healthier, happier life.
Before joining Thérapie, Grecia worked as a caregiver, a volunteer for the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation, and in the healthcare field for over a decade. She is overjoyed to witness the changes in the lives of those who have experienced the benefit of her learning and her healing hands.
